JUNNY’s jump into K-Pop almost happened when he was a junior in high school. On a whim, he sent in an audition package for the popular TV show K-pop Star and almost made it. “They came all the way over to the house, interviewed my parents and I thought I was on my way, but it didn’t work out,” he said. After graduating, he flew over to Seoul to check things out, and was immediately seduced by the exploding music scene over there. “When I came to Korea, I had no idea that the scene was so heavily influenced by music from all over the world, and the amount of listening, research and work that goes into it is really crazy,” he said. “When I first got here, I lived in a very small studio space with a number of other musicians and it was a tough process and I had to work doubly hard. But I wouldn’t trade the experience because it made me who I am today.”
